    16. In going over the collections in this place and elsewhere it was a weariness over and over again to come across the same works on modem Ny4ya and Grammar and on Astrology and Mantra, which are not of much importance in the eyes of a scholar. The following, however, may be mentioned as being amongst the rarer or more noticeable manuscripts I came across at Indore: —

Old copies of the Ṛigveda, Saṁhitā and Pada, Vardhamāna's Gaṇaratnamahodadhi with his own commentary (300 years old), Śrīdhara's Smṛityarthasāra, Śāstradīpikāprakāśa by Champakanātha and a few Jaina works.

A pretty full collection of works on Astronomy and Mathematics containing the following among others: — Vṛiddhavasishṭhasiddhānta or Viśvaprakāśa, Romaśasiddhānta, Laghvāryabhaṭasiddhānta, Jātakārṇavakaraṇa attributed to Varāhamihira, Paitāmahabhāṣya, usw.

    Āśvalāyanasūtraprayogavṛitti by Tālavṛintanivāsin.

Kātyāyana's Sarvānukramaṇikā with a commentary by Mīmāṁsāchārya Baghunātha, son of Davadatta Chaturvedin.

Haripūjanapaddhati by Ānandatīrtha, son of Janārdanabhaṭṭa.

    Ujjvalā, a commentary on Hiranyakeśidharmasūtra.

Yogamuktāvali by king Ballāla of Chitrakūṭa of the Kadamba family.

A commentary on Chandrāloka by Gāgābhaṭṭa.

    Vāstuśāstra by Viśvakarman.

Aśvadarpaṇa by Bandimiśra, son of Jagadīśa.

    Trilakshaṇā Bhaktimīmāṁsā.

    Śūlapāṇi's commentary on Yājñavalkya.

A commentary on Vṛittaratnākara composed in Śaka 1505 by Pūrṇānanda Kavi, son of Trilochana.

A very old copy of an anonymous commentary on Vāgbhaṭālaṁkāra.

A very old copy of a translation by Rāmajī Śvetāmbarayati into Hindi of Śṛiṅgāradīpikā, a commentary on the Amaruśataka, the name of the author of the commentary being given as Komaṭī Bhūpāla.

A commentary on the Śrutabodha composed by Manohara for the satisfaction of king Māṇikyamalla.

Puraścharyārṇava by Pratāpa Sāhi, King of Nepal.

Ratnaprakāśika, a commentary on Vṛittaratnākara, by Saṁgamabhaṭṭa.

    Vṛittamuktāvalītarala.

Veṅkaṭāchala’s commentary, Sukhabodhinl, on the Kāvyaprakāśa.

    Āryāmandāramāñjari and Sarasvatīsindūra by Devarāja.

    Pākhaṇḍaviḍambana, a farce by Murārī.

    Adbbutataraṅgaprahasana by Harijīvana.

Of these the manuscript of the Puraścharyārṇava had been lent by the owner to a person at Benares and I could not get a look at it.
