Gātha 231
Just as the earthen-lamp (dīpaka) [note 1], due to its association with oil, produces black-soot (kājala) [note 1], the man whose heart (the mind) is associated with attachment (rāga), though possessed of knowledge (jñāna) and conduct (cāritra), produces karmas. He is not worthy of praise.
