When a disease supervenes, it should be combated with medicine, etc., to preserve the body. But if the disease is incurable and cannot be combated, then the body should be abandoned, as the second stage. For example, if the house is on fire, the man tries, as far as possible, to extinguish the fire and continues living in the house. But if the fire cannot be extinguished, he must abandon the house. Does any wise man continue living in such a burning house?
