    Why, in search of happiness, since long, are you tormenting yourself by ploughing the field, sowing the seeds, serving the kings, and wandering about in forests and on seas? It is a pity that the torment you experience springs from ignorance; it is like searching for oil in the sand, or wishing to live on poison. O worthy soul! Are you not aware that the happiness that you seek surely lies in vanquishing the demon of desires?
