[1] Comm.: Anurāga eva pallavaughaḥ, tadvati (sc. vane. Here I write pallavilla. The form pallivalla is probably not tenable, since the word is pallava and the most frequently occurring affix is illa, but also āla and alla, see Bhag. I, 437, Hāla p. 68, and also pallavilla Hem. II, 164 is directly cited.) Ratir anurāgasyaiva nairantaryeṇa Pravardhamāna saṃtatiḥ saiva vallis, tasyāṃ sphurati smitam eva kusumaṃ yatra; evaṃ-vidhe śṛiṅgāra-vane tava manas tapobhis taptam api na samāśṛitaṃ. (Your mind is ascetic, that is, located in a forest, but this forest is not the forest of love.) Prākṛitatvāt puṅstvam (refers to maṇo, Hem. I, 32)
