Article 5 [1 of 1]
Parameters for promoting self-study [1 of 1]
Promoting self-study, the fourth division of the sixfold path, is underlying in this Kevalajñānavinayatāpasya-saṅgha.[1] The Jain scriptures are therefore the most important thing to acquire, preserve, translate, learn and understand. The parish is therefore trying to find a place for the Jain scripts of the translations for each language area (i.e., Italian-speaking -, German-speaking -, Rhaeta-Romance-speaking - and French-speaking part of Switzerland) for the storage of the Jain scripts or a bhāṇḍāra (library), an upāśrāya (locality of the teacher), a dharamśala (place for board and lodging for Jain laypeople, pilgrims, students and passing sādhus and sādhvīs) and meeting place of the Jain community. The parish endeavors to create these basic conditions and to promote teacher training.
