Three kinds of understanding — budhi, jñāna, asaṃmoha [1 of 9]
It is said that performance of same action yields different fruits to different worshippers if performed with varied mental attitudes. Now our author states the reasons for the varied mental attitudes of different worshippers. He says that due to the vices, — viz (the six inner enemies) attachment, aversion etc. (i.e. anger, conceit, intrigue, and greed), — the performance of an action differs in three types of understanding (i.e., budhi, jñāna, asaṃmoha). This is the reason why the performance of same action yields different fruits.
